Really dont like seeing players like Lanzini and Yarmolenko being called up for these games and having to fly all over the place when they're still working their way back after injury

Re: The International Break
Why is Haksabanovic a waster? Bit harsh for a kid who only turned 20 a few months ago and has so far played every game at the Swedish 1st division club he's loaned to (they play from March-November).

International football is turgid shit, just scrap it. Oh, and grown men who have their faces painted need to die as well.

Whoever wrote this article for the official site has an American outside America understanding of geography in America. If that makes sense.

"Manuel Lanzini will also collect plenty of air miles, as Argentina fly to Los Angeles in California to face Chile in a friendly, before crossing the United States to take on Mexico at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas."

when I was growing up I remember midweek internationals and don't remember weekend footy making way for it.
Lets go back to that

crystal falace 11:15 Wed Sep 4

It was their last game, they were knocked out by Brazil in it.

But you could be right about friendlies. I can't find much on it.

Re: The International SPLAT !!!
At least we don't play till Monday gives Lanzini and Balbuena enough time to recover.

crystal falace 11:15 Wed Sep 4
Re: The International SPLAT !!!
Dont think that was the team's last game in the competition though if i remember correctly? also not sure if it applies to friendlies.

I can't imagine he'd have been called up and dragged to the other side of the world if he was banned

I know Balbuena was called up but is he not suspended.

His last game was a red for a professional foul.

Re: The International SPLAT !!!
Balbuena and Lanzini both facing long round trips all over the world for i believe nothing more than FRIENDLIES!

Can't we do the classic fergie and say Lanzini has a cold or something, he's just getting back to top form ffs!

International football ihas become generally dull. IMHO. I'm somehow pleased when England win, but in all honesty it's as interesting to me as a new fence panel.

Balbuena has been not sure if he is still suspended

Lanzini, Ajeti, Snodgrass as well.

Re: The International Break
it must be very frustrating for clubs who's players don't go away. Players are starting to get near to full fitness and then they have a 14 day break.

Plus i can't see why the games can not be scheduled like euro games are, wednesday and thursday and games carry on as normal at the weekend.

Re: The International Break
Don't like it. Just as we get 4 games under our belts it all stops.

It's a bit like a fuck without coming.

Re: The International Break
I think the upcoming winter break is a load of bollocks as well. They always trot it out as an excuse for the international team not doing well or our domestic teams being shit in the champions league but we made the World Cup semis last year and all four finalists in the European competitions were from the premier league.

BFS always took out lot to Dubai but we were still shit when we got back!

kylay 8:02 Tue Sep 3
Re: The International Break
International friendlies really need to be banned except for preparation for a major tournament world cup/euro. All other times it is just a FIFA cash grab that does nothing for any other party involved.

Sven Roeder 7:54 Tue Sep 3
Re: The International Break
Fabianski is still in the Poland squad isn’t he?
And Yarmolenko with Ukraine.
Hopefully there aren’t African games (Arthur) or S American ones (Balbuena) on the other side of the world.
